Together

There’s this vision in my head.

You. Me. The world. Together.

Holding hands, smiling and laughing about the past 4000 years.

The smokey remembrances of history surround us in vibrant hues of our favorite colors, beckoning us like it’s some lost treasure, enticing us to repeat it. But we won’t, because we know the truth now. That this new life of harmony is so much better than the one we left behind.

So we turn our backs to the colors and let the conversations flow naturally, spiritually, authentically. We run, we embrace, we smile. We walk across the world without fear. There is peace in this new world and it’s beautiful.

Longingly, I think these thoughts of an age where the human race finally recognizes itself as one. Where we finally see that we are all the same in some way. Connected through time, intertwined by our experiences. A simple truth.

But we are so far from this. So deeply rooted in the sins of the past.
